In Elite Dangerous, supercruise is the in-system faster than light flight method. SuperCruise Overdrive (SCO), however, is even faster. How fast? I flew a data courier mission in the new Cobra Mk V from the star Acatesano to the Hughes Fulford-Stop settlement 423,000 light seconds away. I hit a peak speed of 7,005 times the speed of light, didn't overheat once, and consumed just under half a tank of fuel during the only five and a half minute trip.
Here is the initial distance and we see the clock at 31 minutes 24 seconds.
Above we have the mid-journey speed check. Next we have the name of the settlement as we approached, but the ship's clock was out of view.
Lastly we can see the clock as we come in for a landing at 36 minutes 59 seconds.
That's ridiculous performance and I couldn't be happier. The small Mk V replaces the iconic Cobra Mk III as my go-to for Odyssey on-foot missions and transporting small amounts of cargo or data. I highly recommend one.
